This A4 book is written in Alf's own words.  It tells the story of growing up in 1930's Sunderland, the deprivation and hardships.  Alf tells of his fight to improve his situation, of working in the shipyards as a joiner, and how he built his own house.  He prospered and now, aged 90, has a loving, caring family.
A great read for all the family.
