Hi Everyone Well, our Summer Fayre was a bumper event last weekend, perhaps helped by the good weather. Our volunteers worked their socks off and we had many complements during the day. This was greatly appreciated.
Recently we have had a number of articles in the Sunderland Echo from Katie Wheeler. Katie visited the Donnison school some weeks ago and was very enthusiastic about what we are doing. She gave us some great mentions in the Echo and this has led to a number of new visitors and a healthy increase in our bookings for talks, cream teas, tours, visitors. We have also had a number of new volunteers who will undergo training shortly.
This year, Lynne has being doing a great job of looking after the garden and propagating plants for the summer fayre. However, the Anderson shelter was another matter. Alan trimmed it back last year and removed brambles but they are back - bionic I think. Janette was told of C.B. Gardening Services and they came on Wednesday. What a brilliant job the two men did in four hours!

The Lovell Lectures are booking very fast and Stuart's Nellie and the Muckrakers talk is already fully booked. Diane's Let's Talk Murder only requires a maximum of 10 people so booking early is essential. If you wish to book for talks, trips or cream teas, please do so online if you can. Once paid, you can be sure of a place. The link is below.
Finally, our Donnison Needs a New Hat appeal has almost reached £4000. Despite our best efforts, the condition of the roof is getting worse and plaster is beginning to crack. We really need this fixed before the winter strikes so, if you possible can make a donation, no matter how small, it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I'll stop now and will try a further update soon. Hope you all have a great week, enjoy the sunshine and have a great weekend Best Wsihes
